At MyMusicExam, we aim to make the process of joining our online piano lessons as smooth and effective as possible. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started and ensure your child gets the most out of their lessons:

Set Up Your Device

Preferred Devices: We recommend using a laptop or tablet for the best experience during our Zoom lessons. These devices provide a larger screen and better functionality compared to smartphones.
Install Zoom: Ensure the Zoom app is installed on your device. This can be downloaded from the Zoom website or your device’s app store.

Optimize Your Audio Settings

To ensure the best sound quality during lessons:
For Tablets: Open the Zoom app, go to meeting settings, and enable "Original Sound".
For Laptops: In the Zoom audio settings, turn on "Original Sound for Musicians". This setting is crucial for capturing the nuances of piano sound.

Position Your Device

Ideal Placement: Place your device on the side of the piano at an angle where both the keys and your child are clearly visible. This setup allows the teacher to see the hand positions and posture, providing more effective guidance.
Using a Chair: You can achieve this angle by placing your device on a chair next to the piano, as shown in the image below.

Join the Lesson

Log In to Zoom: A few minutes before the scheduled lesson time, log in to the Zoom meeting using the link provided. Ensure your child is ready with their piano books and any other materials needed for the lesson.
Interactive and Engaging: Our lessons are designed to be interactive and fun, encouraging your child to participate actively and enjoy their learning experience.

Practice and Progress

Practice Time: During the lesson, students will have time to practice what they’ve learned while the teacher listens to other students. This helps reinforce the material and allows for immediate feedback.
